engagement of their children Lauren
Beth Kaplan and David Mark
Weinberg. Lauren is also the daughter
of the late Irving Kaplan.
Lauren received her bachelor's
degree from Michigan State University
and her master's in physician assistant
studies from Wayne State University.
She is employed as a physician assis-
tant.
David graduated from Arizona State
University, where he received his
bachelor's degree in finance. He is
president and co-cofounder of
SearchCactus.com LLC.
A July wedding is planned at
Temple Israel.

Emmer were recently mar-
ried at Congregation Beth
Ahm. Rabbi Charles Popky,
Rabbi David Nelson, Cantor David
Montefoire and Cantor Samuel
Greenbaum officiated.
Debbie is the daughter of Sidney and
Linda Blackman of West Bloomfield
and the late Karen Blackman. Scott is
the son of Marilynn and Richard
Emmer of Bloomfield Hills
Phylis Blackman was the matron of
honor and Amy Mintz was the maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were Betsy
Blackman, Jill Blackman, Amy Zonder,
Kelley Emmer, Adina London and
Alissa Brown. The flower girls were
Emily Zonder, Hannah Zonder and
Danielle Kay.
Craig Sukenic was the best man.
Groomsmen were Jeff Zonder, Jeff
Blackman, Marc Blackman and Jeff
Emmer. The ring bearers were Matthew
Blackman and Chad Kay.
The bride and groom were honored
to have their grandmother Rae Peltz and
their aunt and uncle Elaine and Bob
Cohen participate in the ceremony.
Following a honeymoon on a
Caribbean cruise, the couple reside in
Virginia.
