Shelby Wallach will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah on Feb. 23, at
Congregation Beth Ahm. Shelby is the
daughter of Stacy and Howard Wallach
and the sister of Jillian. Proud grand-

Brookenthal of Toledo, Ohio. She is
also the grand-
daughter of the late
Dora and Josef
Wallach.
Shelby is an
honor student at
O.E. Dunckel
Middle School in
Farmington Hills.
She enjoys snow
skiing, water skiing,
creative writing and spending summers
caring for children at Congregation
Beth Ahm. Her mitzvah projects
included spending time with seniors at
Heartland Nursing Home in West
Bloomfield and volunteering at meal-
time at Fleischman Residence in West
Bloomfield.

Jeremy Zickerman of West Bloomfield
will be called to the Torah as a bar
mitzvah at Adat Shalom Synagogue on
Saturday, Feb. 23. Participating in the
ceremony will be his parents, Bruce
and Ellen Zickerman. Proud grand-
mother is Shirley Zickerman of West
Bloomfield. He is
also the grandson
of the late Irving
Zickerman and
the late Meyer
and Gloria Ellis.
Jeremy is a stu-
dent at Abbott
Middle School in
West Bloomfield.
He is active in
sports and Boy Scouts and enjoys
spending his time camping. He likes
playing Nintendo and e-mailing friends
and family. His mitzvah project was
volunteering at Yad Ezra in Berkley,
which he continues to do even though
his project time is completed.

Sternberg and Walter Nystrom. She
holds a bachelor of arts degree in soci-

California, San Diego, and a master of
interior architecture degree from the
University of Oregon in Corvallis. She
works for Tom Eliot Fisch
Architecture and Interiors in San
Francisco.
Erik is the son of Natalie Gelman
and Ron Rice. He holds a bachelor of
arts degree in African-American stud-
ies from the University of Michigan
and is pursuing his master's of educa-
tion leadership degree from Mills
College in Oakland, Calif. Erik also
teaches social sciences at Life Academy
High School in Oakland.
