He is survived by his wife, Susann Kauffan; daughter, Lori Evelyn Kauffman of Wilmington, Del. Arrangements by Hebrew Memorial Chapel. DR. JACK S. LAWSON, 80, of Boca Raton, Fla., died Feb. 12. He attended Wayne State University and graduated from the University of Detroit Dental School in 1944. After service in the U.S. Army, he established a dental practice in north- east Detroit, which he later relocated to Sterling Heights until he retired in 1987. Dr. Lawson was the international president of Alpha Omega dental fra- ternity and for 10 Jack Lawson years served as edi- tor of the Alpha Omega News. His affiliations included the Michigan Dental Association, Detroit District Dental Society aria being a life member of the American Dental Association. He belonged to Congregation B'nai Moshe and Adat Shalom Synagogue and was a charter member of Tam O'Shanter Country Club. Dr. Lawson was a founder and pres- ident of the Swissedent Study Club of Detroit and chair of the Laboratory Relations Committee of the Detroit District Dental Society in 1976. His second love, after dentistry, was pro- ducing musicals. He founded both the Alpha Omega and the Tam O'Shanter players. After retirement, he organized the Jewish Repertory Theater of South Florida. Dr. Lawson is survived by his wife, Sylvia Miller Lawson; daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Lawrence Hyman of West Bloomfield; son, Bruce Lawson of Florida; son-in-law, Norman Herbst and his wife, Barbara Herbst; grandchildren, Bradley and . Merrie Herbst, Dr. Jonathon and Maryanne Herbst, Tracie Ratiner, Andrew Ratiner. Dr. Lawson was the beloved husband of the late Ruby Lawson; the loving father of the late Linda Herbst and the dear brother of the late Edith Helman and the late Gladys Hyman.
