She was rec- ognized for her community work with several noted awards including the Volunteer of the Year Award from the National Society of Fund-Raising Executives, the Governor's Award for Exemplary Volunteer Work and Outstanding Service to the Community and the Distinguished Service Award 2001 from the Detroit Institute of Arts. Mrs. Zamler Lesser held many lead- ership positions with the DIA as well as being co-chair of the Volunteer Committees of Art Museums of the United States and Canada. She was also asked by the director of the DIA to rep- resent the DIA to the U.S. Congress regarding the funding of the arts. She was a graduate of Wayne State University with a bachelor of arts and her master's studies were in English liter- ature. Mrs. Zamler Lesser is survived by her husband, Robert Lesser; sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Maureen Zamler, Dr. David and Di& Zamler, Sherwin and Monica Zamler, all of Beverly Hills; daughters and son-in-law, Diane Henninger of Beverly Hills, Ellen and Dr. Les Siegel of Bloomfield Hills; grandchildren, Lyndsey, Kerri, Casey, Julia, Shelley, Daniel, Sarah and Noah Zamler, Joseph and Dayna Henninger, Michael, Eric and Stephen Siegel; broth- ers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry Zamler, Albert Zamler, Yetta Kushner, Elaine Lesser, Sam and Hyla Offen.
