SYLVIA ASH, 93, of West Bloomfield,
died Feb. 1. She was co-owner and
bookkeeper of Ash Wallpaper. She was
also a founding member of Temple
Israel, belonged to Hadassah and was
active for many years with the auxiliary
for Jewish Home for Aged.
Mrs. Ash is survived by her daughters
and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Ernest
Wolfe of California, Lois and Dr. Stuart
Falk of West Bloomfield; grandchildren,
Gary and Stacey Wolfe, Karen and
Daniel Rosenfeld, Lori and Robert Rose,

PEARL SELTZFR AUGUST, 82, of
Farmington Hills, died Jan. 29. She
received her master's degree in social
work from the University of Michigan
and worked at the Red Cross and
Veterans Hospital.
Mrs. August is survived by her daugh-
ters, Flori Seltzer Engbrecht of
Montana, Linda Seltzer Sucher of
Farmington Hills; grandchildren, Noah
and Elijah Engbrecht and Adam, Allie
and Erik Sucher. She was the beloved
wife of the late Dr. Joseph Seltzer and
the late Harold August.

DORIS BOARK, 85, of Hallendale
Beach, Fla., died Jan. 23. While in the
Detroit area, she was the owner of Merit
Heating Co. She later became a regis-
tered nurse, attending Henry Ford
Communuity College and graduating
from Michigan State University. After
retiring, Mrs. Borak moved to
Hallendale and lived in the Hemispheres
Condominiums, where she volunteered
her services as a registered nurse.
Mrs. Borak is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Mark D. Rubin and
Nora Lynch of West Bloomfield; grand-
son, Joshua Rubin; sister, Gertrude
Klein of Ohio; former husband, Samuel
Borak.

GEORGE FRANK, 84, of Bloomfield
Hills, died Jan. 24. Born in Vienna, Mr.
Frank was 21 when he was taken by the
Nazis on Kristallnacht and sent to
Dachau. Released in
1939, he traveled to
England and then perma-
nently relocated to the
United States.

and the IRS before his retirement. He
