performed during the ceremony,
appetizers and first hora, and
then Mel Ball and the Colours
took over. Ritter sang a Peruvian
song and played guitar as part of
his toast. "We wanted both a
Klezmer band and a salsa band,
but salsa music is hard to come

Birmingham worked their magic
using wonderful ceramic pots
wrought iron flower stands and
hundreds of sunflowers, bringing
to life a country French/Tuscan
garden party, which looked beau-
tiful against the majestic tapestry
in the Kingswood Dining Hall.

INVITATIONS: "We were look-

ing for something artful and ele-
gant but not stuffy. Solange
Messelian, the owner of Lee's
Specialty in Bloomfield Hills,
helped us select an invitation
with hand-painted green leaves
by The Delicate Pen, perfect for
an outdoor wedding."

Cranbrook Special Events, and I
became good friends. We shared
a similar sensibility about the
attention to details. He even
helped arrange for our out-of-
town guests to stay in rooms at
the Art Academy dorms and to
take tours of the campus
throughout the wedding week-
end."

HONEYMOON: They rode

bikes, of course, along 450 miles
of the Pyrenees, skirting the bor-
der between France and Spain
(he speaks Spanish, she speaks
French). They had a slow start
— the night before the wedding,
Lieberman broke her toe; the
first few days in Paris featured
the bride in a wheelchair, until
her toe healed enough to put on
a bike shoe.
