Ilaena is in seventh grade at Riley
Middle School in Livonia. Her inter-
ests include jazz and ballet, Girl
Scouts, horseback riding, biking, cook-
ing and art.

Lily Anne Przybylowicz, daughter of
Lori and Loren Blum, will become a
bat mitzvah at Temple. Israel on
Saturday, Feb. 2. Sharing in the sim-
chah are brothers Jason and Scott
Przybylowicz and Skyler Blum and sis-
ters Ashley and Danielle Blum. She is
also the sister of the late Hannah
Blum. Her grandparents are Cissy and
Walter Gordon; great-grandmother is
Rae Klempner. Lily is also the grand-
child of the late Rochelle Blum and
great-grandchild of the late Lillian and
Hyman Feldman.
Lily attends Abbott Middle School
in West Bloomfield, where she enjoys
softball, acting, dancing, music and
basketball. Volunteering at Yad Ezra in
Oak Park was one of her mitzvah proj-
ects.

Sander Rubin will be called to the
Torah as a- bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Feb. 2, at Temple Israel. He is the son
of Dr. Stuart and Andrea Rubin and
big brother of 7-year-old Rose Rubin.
Proud grandparents are Leonard and
Celia Raimi of Franklin and Jeanette
Rubin of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. He is
also the grandson of the late Sol
Rubin.
Sander is an eighth-grade honor stu-
dent at Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. He is on the varsity basketball
team, the cross-country team and plays
on the Franklin baseball team. His
mitzvah projects included weekly visits
with his father to a JARC home, work-
ing at Yad Ezra in Oak Park and visit-
ing and making friends at Fleischman
Resider* in West Bloomfield.

j Emily Faye Phillips (Tzeporah) will
be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah
.on Saturday, Feb. 2, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. She is the daughter of
Beverly K. and Randy Phillips and sis-
ter of Jeremy. Sharing in the simchah
are proud grandparents Bea
Kriechman and Berta and Perry
Phillips. She is also the granddaughter
of the late Bert Kriechman.
Emily is a seventh-grade honor stu-
dent at Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. She enjoys playing the piano,
dancing, skiing, computers and attend-
ing Tamarack Camps. She found it

meaningful to work with the Detroit
Coalition for Literacy and to conduct
a book drive for students at Jackson
Elementary School in Oak Park. As
part of he mitzvah project, Emily vol-
unteered at Yad Ezra in Oak Park and
visited residents at Fleischman
Residence in West Bloomfield. She
also made donations to charitable
organizations.

Alexandra Renee Sherbow will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Feb. 2, at Temple Emanu-El.
She is the daughter of Susan and Mark
Sherbow and sister of Rachel. Sharing
in the joy are her grandparents Muriel
and Bud Sherbow and Lillian Stanczyk.
Alexandra is a seventh-grade honor
student at Norup Middle School in
Oak Park. She enjoys dancing and art,
but likes painting most and has deco-
rated her room with many of her origi-
nal works. As part of her mitzvah proj-
ect, she served as a leader in training for
the Huntington Woods summer day
camp, helped deliverThanksgiving bas-
kets for Community Services of
Oakland .County and worked as an
assistant in the Temple Emanu-El
library.

Adam Jeremy Tukel-Finegood will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Feb. 2, at Congregation B'nai
Moshe. He is the son of Susan Tukel,
Michael Balloch and Ronald Finegood
and grandson of Emily and the late
Sherwin Tukel, Sam and the late Joan
Finegood.
Adam is a seventh-grade student at
West Hills Middle School in
Bloomfield Hills and attends Hebrew
high school at B'nai Moshe. He is an
avid baseball player and plans to be a
counselor at baseball camp this sum-
mer. He also loves computers and the
violin. Adam's mitzvah project was
working with Friends, a support group
for stroke victims sponsored by B'nai
Moshe and Beaumont Hospital of
Royal Oak.

Nicole Alana Zausmer, daughter of
Laura and Mark Zausmer, will be called
to read from the Torah on Friday, Feb.
1, at Temple Israel. She is the sister of
Jessica and Michael and grandchild of
Martha and Larry Paul, Gail and Jack
Krueger and the late Norman Zausmer.
An honor student at Abbott Middle
School in West Bloomfield, Nicole
enjoys music, writing, reading, acting
and dancing. Among her mitzvah proj-
ects, she made ribbons to raise funds for
the victims of the Sept. 11 tragedy.
