The Israel Cancer Association of
Michigan last month sent $250,000
to its parent organization, the Israel
Cancer Association, to help finance a
mobile X-ray unit, assuring that more
women will be able to have breast
examinations throughout Israel.
The ICA of Michigan's funds will
also be used to help finance additional
cancer research and contribute to the
development of an interactive, corn-
puter-based anti-smoking educational
program.

Huntington Woods has been appoint-
ed director of
orthopedic
sports medi-
cine at
Providence
Hospital and
Medical
Centers. He
joins the
Poretta
Center for
Orthopedic
Surgery at
Dr. Jefferey Michaelson Providence
with offices
in Novi and
Southfield. Michaelson specializes in
orthopedic sports medicine and sur-
gery with special area of interest in
arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder,
knee and ankle, which complements
his interest in sports medicine.

The Alliance for the Mentally Ill of
Oakland County will hold a family
support meeting 7:30 p.m. Monday,
Feb. 4, at the Mental Health
Building, 15920 W 12 Mile,
Southfield. A general meeting will be
held 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at
Beaumont Hospital, 3601 W. 13
