merly of Detroit,
announce the engagement of their
daughter Miss Jodi Gwen Garber to
Mr. Neil Harper Simon, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Mort and Terri Simon of
Portland, Ore. A September wedding
is planned.
Miss Garber graduated from
Northwestern University in Evanston,
Ill., with a bachelor of science degree
in journalism with a double major in
women's studies. She is a reporter at
the El Paso Times and is pursuing her
master's degree in fine arts in creative
non-fiction writing at Bennington
College in Vermont.
Mr. Simon graduated from
Northwestern University with a bach-
elor of science degree in journalism
with a double major in political sci-
ence. He is a reporter at KTSM-TV
in El Paso.
