It is with deep sorrow that the entire Yeshivat Akiva family mourns the passing
of Rudlophl. "Rudy" Newman, an eagle who defended this country in WW II,
helping to liberate the survivors, and then turning around volunteering to
defend the fledging Jewish State of Israel during her War of Independence by
helping to organize the first Jewish Air Force, now the IAF.
We join the community in grieving the loss of such a committed member of our
Local community, who led with his wife a life of giving supporting Israeli and
.
Zionist causes and religious and educational institutions.
