delighted to announce the engage-
ment of their children Heidi
Brookenthal and Daniel Shapiro.
Heidi graduated-with a bachelor of
science degree from Michigan State
University and received her degree of
osteopathic medicine in Des Moines,
Iowa. She completed her internship at
Botsford General Hospital in
Farmington Hills, her residency at
Midwestern University in Chicago
and now practices family medicine in
Chicago.
Danny graduated with a bachelor of
science degree from the University of
Illinois in Urbana and received his
master's of psychology from Roosevelt
University in Chicago. He is a pedi-
atric behavioral consultant in private
practice in Chicago.
A March wedding is planned in
Dearborn. After a honeymoon in Asia,
the couple will reside in Chicago.

Brown of Scarsdale, N.Y.,
and Jeffrey Hack, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence S. Hack of
West Bloomfield, were married recent-
ly at the Harvard Club of New York
City.
Mrs. Hack is the vice president of
marketing and business development
of Origin Inc., a New York organiza-
tion that helps major companies place
low-income individuals in full-time
jobs. She graduated summa cum laude
and Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth
College in Hanover, N.H., and
received her master of business admin-
istration degree from Harvard
Business School in Cambridge.
Mr. Hack is a managing director
and the chief administrative officer of
Smith Barney, a unit of Citigroup. He
graduated cum laude from the
Wharton School at the University of
Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and
received his master of business admin-
istration degree from Harvard

Farmington Hills joyfully
announce the upcoming
marriage of their son
Stephen Jeremy to Linzie Corinne
Brown, daughter of Jody Brown and
Ronald Brown of Springfield, Mo.
Both Steve and Linzie will receive
their doctor of veterinary medicine
degrees from Michigan State
University in May.
After graduation, Linzie will join a
private practice and Steve has been
selected to enter a small animal medi-
cine and surgery internship program.
A June wedding is planned at the
Links at Pinewood in Walled Lake.

endy Israel and Dr.
Michael Kam were
recently married at
Congregation Shaarey
Zedek Southfield. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Israel
of Farmington Hills. The groom is the
son of Dr. Eli Kam and Flora Kam of
West Bloomfield.
The groom's sister, Rebecca Kam,
and the bride's twin sisters, Franci and
Lisa Israel, were maids of honor.
Bridesmaids were Michelle Kam and
Elaine Cohen. The best man was
David Kam, brother of the groom.
The groomsmen were Bob Budai,
Ryan Barish and Idan Alkalay. Other
attendants were Joshua Kam, Jaclyn
Israel and Mark Hakim.
The couple were honored to have
the groom's grandpa Hertzel Hakim
and several relatives from New York
attend the occasion.
Following a honeymoon in the
Bahamas, the couple reside in West
Bloomfield.
