Dr. Anton Pelinka, an authority on
Austrian history, will speak on "Austria
and Its Nazi History" 7:30 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 14, at the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield. The Holocaust Memorial
Center will host the event.
Pelinka holds doctorates in political
science and law. He is professor of polit-
ical science at the University of
Innsbruck and director of the Institute
of Conflict Research in Vienna as well
as visiting professor in the department
of Germanic language and literature
and the political science department at
the University of Michigan.
There is no charge for the lecture.

The Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit's Russian
Acculturation Program will sponsor a
Russian tea room 7:30 p.m. Saturday,
Feb. 16, at Temple Emanu-El.
Gennady Zut, a balalaika virtuoso,
and his wife, Tatyana, will perform pop-
ular classical music, Russian romances
and Yiddish songs. Yakov Todromovich,
a bayan virtuoso, also will perform.
Participants will have an opportunity to
meet the artists, who will share the cul-
tural aspects of their lives as Jews from
the former Soviet Union.
The event is open to the public.
Admission is $5; refreshments will be
served.

National Council of Jewish Women
Greater Detroit Section.
A docent tour of the current show
"Children of the World Illustrate the
Bible: An International Exhibition" is
planned at the Janice Charach Epstein
Gallery at the Jewish Community
Center in West Bloomfield, 1 . p.m.
Wednesday Jan. 16. Fern Katz is event
chair.
Judy Cantor will speak about "Jews In
Michigan" 10:30 a.m. \XIcchaesday, Jan.
23, at the NCJW office, 26400 Lahser
Road, Southfield. A snack will be
served. Gerry Pasternak is event chair.
