4 • JANUARY 2002 • STYLE AT THE JN

o matter what the weather is in Detroit,
our city sparkles in January because of the
North American International Auto Show.
Now in its 14th year, the event features
the introduction of
new automobiles
and concept cars.
Our city demon-
strates its spirit of
philanthropy with
the Charity
Preview, one of the
largest single-night
fundraising events
in the world. The
monies raised go to

dren.
To pique your
interest about the North American International Auto
Show 2002, automobile writer Julie Candler previews
six interesting vehicles. The new trends combine a car
and SUV or SUV and a truck.
In addition to our car, we also will spend an inordi-
nate amount of time in the kitchen. We decided to fea-
ture the Oak Park kosher kitchen of Mark and Renee
Phillips. This young couple created a space that is truly
the heart of the home. Also, in our January issue, meet
artist Deborah Hecht. Her creativity shines in the
lobby at the Fleischman Residence
Blumberg Plaza in West Bloomfield with
her "Dor L'Dor" (generation to generation)
sculpture.
Speaking about generations, Style at, the
Jewish News hopes to continue to provide
everyone in the family with a high-perform-
ance product.
