LEARN THROUGH EXPERIENCE

This was my first trip to Israel, and I quickly realized what it means
to learn through experience. Fumbling with Hebrew one moment, I

found myself arguing politics with cab drivers the next. Once
confused by the geography of the land, I soon found myself helping

tourists with directions. When I was once overwhelmed or
ambivalent about Judaism, I found myself questioning and learning
more about Israel and Judaism. Otzma knows when to give answers

The ultimate real•life experience

and when to motivate you to ask more profound questions.

"The program was at its best when the entire group would gather
for a holiday or educational seminar. We spent much of the time in

small groups throughout the country that we had so much to share
when we reunited. We shared tips on which hikes are the best or

we vented about how difficult it can be to make a difference in
communities that weren't as receptive as we expected. Sometimes

we talked politics. Sometimes we just sang.

"I can't imagine that anyone could participate in Otzma and have it
be anything other than the most enriching experience of their life."
