Pediatrician, Child He'alth Associates

Noah Israel Curhan will become a bar
mitzvah at Temple Israel on Saturday,
Dec. 15. He is the son of Suzan Folbe
Curhan and Michael Curhan and
brother of Jessica, Stephanie and
Sophie. Excited are
grandparents Adele
and Dr. Robert
Curhan and
Eleanor and
Lawrence Jackier as
well as great-grand-
mothers Edythe
Jackier and Sonia
Kudewirz. He is
also the grandson
of the late Norman Folbe.
An honor student at Berkshire
Middle School in Birmingham, Noah
likes basketball, baseball, football,
playing the saxophone, reading, com-
puters and attending Camp Tamakwa
in Canada. Among his mitzvah proj-
ects, he assisted at Volunteer Impact,
packed food boxes at Gleaners food
bank in Detroit and volunteered at
Temple Israel's media center.

Benjamin Failer, son of Mark and
Michelle Failer and brother to Adam,
will become a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Dec. 15, at Temple Emanu-
El. He is the grand-
son of Melvin and
Frances Kaner and
Rena Failer and the
great-grandson of
Isadore Shrodeck.
Ben is a seventh-
grader at Norup
Middle School in
Oak Park. He plays
violin in the school
orchestra and has participated in the
Robotics and Publicity clubs. Ben
enjoys books, computers, science fic-
tion, movies and music. Among his
mitzvah projects, he has volunteered at
Temple Emanu-El for temple events,
is an aid for a visually impaired stu-
dent at school and has volunteered
time to the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society.

Emma Fialka-Feldman celebrated her
bat mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 24,
with the
Workmen's
Circle/Arbeter
Ring.
Emma is the
daughter of Janice
Fialka and Rich
Feldman, and the
sister of Micah

Fialka-Feldman. Proud grandparents
are Pearl Feldman and Delores and
Albert Fialka. Emma is also the grand-
daughter of the late Myron Feldman.
Emma's bat mitzvah presentation
was titled "Jews, Jazz and Louis
Bannet," and included the poem, in
Yiddish, "Mayn Rue Plats (My Resting
Place)," by Morris Rosenfield.
A seventh-grade honor student at
Norup Middle School in Oak Park,
she is a member of the Diversity Club,
Future Problem Solvers and the jazz
band. Her many mitzvah projects
included raising money for a Russian
orphanage and participation in the
Michigan AIDS Walk.

Elizabeth Hanna Goldman will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah
during Havdalah services.at Temple
Israel on Saturday, Dec. 15. She is the
daughter of Nancy and Dr. Lary
Goldman and sister of Carly. Happy
grandparents are
Eileen and Gerald
Granadier and
Norman Goldman.
She is also the
grandchild of the
late Beverly
Goldman.
An honor student
at Cranbrook
Kingswood Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills, Elizabeth
enjoys soccer, the flute, field hockey
and attending Camp Walden in
Cheboygan. Volunteering for
Hadassah's dollmaking project and
donating to the American Diabetes
Association in memory of her grand-
mother were very meaningful mitzvah
projects.

Dylan Michael Grushoff will become
a bar mitzvah on Friday, Dec. 14, at
Temple Israel. He is the son of Terry
and Kerry Grushoff and brother of
Lauren and Erica.
He is also the
grandchild of the
late Phyllis and
Alex Damraur and
the late Betty and
Jerry Grushoff.
A Farmington
Hills Warner
Middle School stu-
dent, Dylan enjoys
baseball, Nintendo, football and cross-
country running. Last year, he partici-
pated in the Junior Olympics for
cross-country in Nevada. As part of
his mitzvah projects, Dylan found it
particularly meaningful to take part in
and raise funds for Gilda's Walk in
