After the paper was bought out, Mrs. Ross was hired per- manently by Ford Motor Company, where she worked for 11 years, helping to produce the company's annual report. In addition, she established a bookkeeping system for the Stockholders Relations Department and maintained a detailed account of budget spending. She is survived by her grandchil- dren, David Jacobs, Daniel Jacobs, Haviva Jacobs; brother, Ed Linx of Ohio and his fiancee, Pat Cook; sister, Carolyn Orrin of Farmington Hills. Mrs. Ross was the beloved wife of the late William Ross and the late David Konhein; loving mother of the late Rachel Jacobs. Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery. SYLVIA FRIEDMAN SOLOMON, 85, of Southfield, died Dec. 10. She was a member of Temple Beth El, life member of Hadassah, a past president of the Huntington Woods Chapter of Women's American ORT, a member of the National Sylvia Solomon Council of Jewish Women. She also conducted exercise and Yiddish classes for seniors at the Oak Park Community Center and was a dancer at the Fox Theatre when it originally opened and then again at the re-open- ing in 1986. Mrs. Solomon is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Lawrence Gardner of Bingham Farms, Risa and Michael McDonald of Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Jackie Friedman of Milford; grandchil- dren, Marc and Rena Gardner, Wendy and Kevin Landau, Michelle Friedman, Lisa Friedman, Adam McDonald and brother, Jerry Cohen.
