It takes a village to make a Chanuka! Spirituality at Tradition! Tradition! Dance To Help Young Judaea plans fund-raiser for Israel mission. T Call Alicia R. Nelson for an appointment (248) 557-0109 www.allthingsjewish.com hough times are difficult, the local Young Judaea group wants to send its members to Israel. They aim to raise $1,000 — half for a solidarity mission this corn- ing February, and half for future Young Judaea events. Young Judaea, the largest Zionist youth movement in America, is spon- sored by Hadassah. The local group will hold a dance-a- thon for Hadassah, 7-9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at the West Bloomfield Jewish Community Center. Donations can be made at the door. "We're flying in Andi Meiseles, the national shaliach (Israel emissary), a wonderful Israeli dance teacher," says Tara Katz, regional director in Chicago. "She'll show us how to cut a rug YJ-style." Alana Kuhn, 16, of West Bloomfield, on the regional YJ board and in charge of publications locally, says there's another reason this event is important. "Even though Young Judaea is a nationwide organization, it's not very well known around here. So we want to introduce ourselves to Hadassah and to the community, and show them a good time." But the event is open to all who want to enjoy a lively evening of dance.
