Andrew Lawrence Samson will cele-
brate his bar mitzvah at Temple Israel
during Havdathh services on Saturday,
Dec. 8. He is the son of Barbara and
Norman Samson, brother of Lindsay,
Jeremy and Jason and the grandson of
Martha Boraks. He is also the grandson
of the late Paul Boraks and the late
Pauline and Ruby Samson.
A student at West Hills Middle
School in
Bloomfield Hills,
where he is on the
basketball team,
Andrew also likes
playing soccer and
golf, collecting
sports trivia, work-
ing on the comput-
er, participating in
drama and forensics.
As part of his mitzvah projects, he
donated to the victims of the Sept. 11
terrorist attack through the Union of
American Hebrew Congregations
Disaster Relief Fund.

Heather Libbi Steinberg will be called
to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Dec. 8, at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek West Bloomfield. She is
the daughter of Shelley and Larry
Steinberg and sister of Matthew. Her
very proud grandparents are Florence
and Bernard Golsky and Tillie
Steinberg. She is also the granddaughter
of the late Nathan Steinberg.
A seventh-grade student at Dunckel
Middle School in
Farmington Hills,
Heather enjoys
music, dancing,
playing the clarinet,
computers, movies.
and being with her
friends. Her mitzvah
projects have includ-
ed helping at the
Applebaum Life &
Family Center in West Bloomfield and
at the Shaarey Zedek Beth Hayeled
summer camp.
