Jared is an honor student at Hillel
Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills, where he enjoys
being on the sound and light crew. His
other interests include track, basketball
and guitar. Jared's mitzvah projects
include collecting new coats, mittens,
hats and scarves to be donated to
•Orchards Children's Services,
Southfield. He has also volunteered at
Alyn Hospital activities and helped
make American ribbons to distribute to
local synagogues. Visiting Fleischman
Residence in West Bloomfield as part of
the Dor LIDor school program was also
a meaningful experience.
Jeffrey Louis Colvin will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Dec. 8, at Adat Shalom Synagogue.

Melanie Elise Dovitz will be called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
Dec. 8, at Temple Israel. She is the
daughter of Susan and Dr. Steven
Dovitz and sister of
Emily and Anne.

An honor student, who is on the
track team at Warner Middle School in
Farmington Hills, Melanie likes dancing
and computers. Among her mitzvah
projects, she collected and distributed
food at Yad Ezra in Oak Park and vol-
unteered with senior citizens.
Tim Findling (Mordechai) of
Farmington Hills will become a bar
mitzvah at Congregation Shaarey Zedek
Southfield on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Participating in the ceremony will be his

spending his summers at Camp Tanuga
in Kalkaska. Eric's favorite mitzvah proj-
ects were volunteering at Shaarey
Zedek's Camp Betman and helping
raise money at his school for the
American Red Cross.
Robert S. Gustafson will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Dec. 8, at Temple Emanu-El. He is the
son of Shari Morningstar and Steven
Gustafson and the brother of Anna. He
is the grandson of Dave Morningstar of
Ojai, Calif, the late Barbara
Morningstar and Donald and Patricia
Gustafson.
