Hadassah is embarking on the
largest and most important fund-
raising campaign in its 90-year his-
tory to bolster its role with emer-
gency medicine.
The goal is to raise $28 million to
renovate and expand emergency and
trauma departments and to create an
integrated Center for Emergency
Medicine at Hadassah-Hebrew
University Medical Center in Ein
Kerem, Jerusalem.
The new Center will triple the
existing space to enable medical staff
to treat many more patients in a
facility equipped with the latest life-
saving technology.
Hadassah Ein Kerem houses
Jerusalem's first trauma unit and
specializes in the immediate treat-
ment of the most seriously injured
and the continued treatment of the
most complicated cases.
Across America, Life Members of
Hadassah are being invited to add
their names and the names of loved
ones to the Center for Emergency
Medicine Book of Peace with a gift
of double chai, $36, or greater per
individual. Bonnie Lipton, national
Hadassah president and Belle
Simon, national vice president of
fund-raising, will present the Book
of Peace to Professor Shlomo Mor-
Yosef, director general of Hadassah
Hospital in Ein Kerem at the
Hadassah national convention in
Orlando, Fla., next July.
If you wish to have your name
included in the Book of Peace,
please call Evelyn at the Greater
Detroit Chapter of Hadassah office
in West Bloomfield: (248) 683-
5030.
