The Jewish Community Center in
Oak Park will host a trip to the Janice
Charach Epstein Gallery at the JCC in
West Bloomfield to see "Portraits of
Honor: Detroit's Holocaust Survivors."
The documentary exhibit by psy-
chologist Charles Silow, featuring por-
traits and stories of 250 survivors, will
be seen Wednesday, Dec. 12.
The tour of the exhibit is free; the
transportation cost is $4. The bus will
leave the Oak Park JCC at 9:30 a.m.
and will return at 11:30 a.m. For reser-

Girls High School, a division of
Oholei Yosef Yitschak Lubavitch
Schools has received an Avi Chai
Bookshelf Grant.
Beis Chaya Mushka Girls High
School will receive 55,000 a year for
two years to buy materials (books,
audiovisual items and software) for
their media centers. At least half of the
money must be used toward Judaic
materials. The school put together a
committee of teachers from different
disciplines to make the purchases.
The Avi Chai Foundation is a New
York-based private foundation dedicat-
ed to supporting and encouraging the
growing North American Jewish day
school movement. Beis Chaya Mushka
Girls High School is one of 115 high
schools participating in the 2001/2002
program. This is its first such grant.

Michigan Jewish Institute will host an
informational gathering 11:30 a.m.
