DMC/Sinai-Grace Hospital's pro-
gram for Holocaust survivors and
families will conduct a photography
session for the survivors and their
families noon-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2,
at the Janice Charach Epstein Gallery
at the Jewish Community Center in
West Bloomfield.
Professional photographer Tom
Kirby of Blue Sky Photography will
photograph survivors for this ongo-
ing project that seeks to honor
Detroit area Holocaust survivors.
Photographs and biographies will be
displayed at the JCC in Oak Park
during January and February 2002.
Also, after the photography ses-
sion, from 2-4 p.m., a panel discus-
sion will focus on the creation of the
Holocaust survivor community in
Detroit and the contributions of the
survivors to the Detroit Jewish corn-
munity.
Panelists include Rabbi Charles
Rosenzveig, executive director of the
Holocaust Memorial, Center;
Abraham Weberman; Ruth Lehman;
Martin Water and Michael Weiss.

CLOSET DESIGNS
Call
Following a Congregation Beit Kodesh Sisterhood meeting, a workshop was
held by Brenda A. Hively, a Creative Memories unit leader. Several scrapbook
enhancement techniques were demonstrated.
Emphasis-was placed on the importance of preserving family photos or other
memorabilia with tips on using album materials with qualities that would not
harm the collection. Assistance was given to members to initiate the first page of
their scrapbooks. Materials were available for purchase.

AIDS Coalition will host a World AIDS
Day Shabbat healing service at Temple
Israel 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.
Rabbi Joshua Bennett will officiate
and music will be provided by Cantor
Harold Orbach, and the Bel Canto
Women's Choir conducted by Martin
Mandelbaum. An AIDS memorial quilt
panel will be on display.
