"From Panim, I learned how young
adults, who may not yet even be able
to vote, could still make a difference .
in the U.S. government and the
world. I also leirned a great deal
about the government and the proce-
dure required to create new laws,
from the time the law is only an idea
to when the president signs it."
Max Halpern
"Through debates, special programs
and speakers, Panim opened my mind
to many subjects, which I may never
have otherwise encountered. It also
demonstrated to me the subjects'
importance and offered solutions on
how to overcome the problems that
currently face these subjects. The sub-
jects that were presented this year on
Panim were Israel, assisted suicide and
homelessness."
— Elad Hillman
"It was exciting to debate from a vari-
ety of perspectives. I also enjoyed the
opportunity to apply the skills that I -
learn in Akiva to a more real-world
setting."
— Josh Ettinger
"Panim showed me that one person
has the ability to change the world."
— Ronnie Eisenberg
"Panim el Panim was quite an experi-
ence! The best parts of it were the
Holocaust museum, the encounter
with the homeless and meeting
Senator Debbie Stabenow. The
encounter with the homeless made a
big impact on me. From the home-
less, I realized how much we take for
granted and that we should be satis-
fied with what we have because there
are so many people who are less for-
tunate than we."

Projects last between two and four hours.
