T

he terrorist attacks that rocked
America on Sept. 11 have made
many of us take stock of our bless-
ings in a time of uncertainty.
This Thanksgiving, in particular, we may
be even more thankful than ever for some
of those things we took for granted — our
families and loved one, our safety and secu-
rity, our prosperity and opportunities.

munity are thankful for this holiday.

"I knew someone who was lost in the
disaster, so I'm still overwhelmed. Life
is precious and the people around you are
precious. I have a sense of loss, but a sense
of hope, too, that we'll get through this."

— Lisa Drasnin, 43,
homemaker, West Bloomfield
