From Her Own Life

As she has in the past, Mrs. Garrett offers
wisdom in her own indomitable way.
"She's not a Jewish mother; I didn't
play her as any kind of denominational
mother," said Rae, who had a hand in
shaping Mrs. Garrett's character from
the beginning. "I didn't want her to be
a psychiatrist. She never gives advice,
but shares from her own experience."
For some of that experience, she
draws on her childhood in Milwaukee,
Wis., where she grew up the middle of

"People have been asking about a
reunion show, saying, 'There are all
these other reunions, why not one
with the girls and you?'
"It has been a long time," Rae said.
"One was mentioned a long time
before, but I just went on
doing other work. Then,
all of a sudden, it started
to happen, and we were

"They look gorgeous.

there. They were very
talented and terrific
then; now they're better
than ever."
Missing from the
familiar mix is Nancy
McKeon (Jo), who was
busy concentrating on
her own series, The
Division, on the Lifetime
network. "We all love
