By Association

A group of builders and other profes-
sionals in southeastern Michigan were
honored in November during the 2001
Leadership Recognition and Awards
Night sponsored by the Farmington
Hills-based Building Industry
Association of Southeastern Michigan
and the Apartment Association of
Michigan:
The Builder of the
Year Award was pre-
sented to Steven
Perlman, president of
Huntley Homes Inc.
of West Bloomfield,
for his service to the
Steven Perlman
association and his
contributions to the
home building indus-
try.
Irvin H. Yackness,
executive vice presi-
dent and general
counsel of BIA, was
inducted into the
Irwin Yackness association's hall of
fame.
A Distinguished
Service Award for the
apartment industry
went to George M.
Nyman, president of
Professional Property ghe.

Jeffrey A. Sklar, former Detroiter of
Los Angeles, is now an associate with
the firm of Alschuler Grossman Stein
& Kahan LLP., whiCh works primarily
in the entertainment and business
fields. He received his bachelor of arts
degree from Michigan State University
in 1994 and his juris doctorate cum
laude from Loyola of Los Angeles Law
School in 2001, where he was elected
to the Order of the Coif. Sklar is in the
corporate division of the firm, doing
mergers and acquisitions.
