Jenna Wunder, and Hank and Heidi Wineman. n explosive blast of theatrical entertain- ment filled the Fox Theatre recently, and hundreds of JARC (Jewish Association for Residential Care) supporters showed up to enjoy the musical extravaganza while raising money for their favorite cause. Blast, a Tony Award-winning production, mixes blues, jazz, rock & roll and techno with intricately choreographed dance movements. The name of the show befits the ample horn sec- tion — it's the ultimate, precision marching band with Broadway panache. Young adult chairperson Judith Shenkman welcomed guests to the "Blast Off" pre-glow, where they were also greeted by event chair Ellen Labes and JARC President H. James Zack. The under-40 crowd noshed on hors d'oeuvre- sized pizza and Middle-Eastern fare, as well as all manner of whipped potatoes and toppings served in champagne glasses. An emotionally moving video, shown prior to the performance, reminded all in attendance of the real reasons they took time out to have a "blast." Stephanie and Jim Zack, and Ellen and Jim Labes.
