Announces the unveiling of a
monument in his memory
1:00 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001,
at Hebrew Memorial. Relatives and
friends are invited to attend.

Larry characterized his father "was a real
role model, not only as a father, but also
to his fellow dialysis patients who always
were downbeat; he showed them how to
live life to the fullest. He loved to travel
and even took a Mediterranean cruise in
August, using an insulin pump and get-
ting dialysis on the ship and while he
was in Monte Carlo."
At the funeral, one of Mr. Kraft's
granddaughters, Carly Kraft, said he
never complained . . . went out every
night . . . and his smile always lit up the
room." Her sister, Dana, an actress and
singer, sang the ballad "Simple."
Mr. Kraft attended the University of
Michigan and Harvard University's
Business School. A dedicated philan-
thropist, he supported many national
and area charities through his family's
foundation. In 1999, he received the
West Bloomfield-based Holocaust
Memorial Center's Legacy Award for
becoming the First Master Builder and
donating $1 million for HMC's planned
new museum complex in Farmington
Hills. The gift was in the name of Kraft
and his late wife, Mignon (Hamburger),
who died in 1998. They were married
for 55 years.
Mr. Kraft is survived by his son and
daughter-in-law, Larry and Jackie Kraft;
daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Rabbi
Syme; grandchildren, Dana and Carly
Kraft, Jennifer and Joseph Cohen,
Elizabeth (Bon) Friedman and Joshua
Syme, great-grandchildren, Samantha
and Matthew Cohen. He was the loving
son of the late Harry and Fannie Kraft;
brother of the late Hannan Kraft.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made
to the Holocaust Memorial Center, the
National Kidney Foundation or the
Fannie Kraft Foundation at Temple Beth
El. Arrangements by Ira Kaufman

in the popular advertising slogan, "Serta
Perfect Sleeper."
Mr. Kraft's son, Larry, of West
Bloomfield is now president and CEO,
adding a third generation to the busi-
ness. Mr. Kraft, who was semi-retired
when he died, created and patented new
designs for mattresses and mattress pads
through the years.

BEATRICE GOLDFARB ADLER,

78, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of
Detroit, died Oct. 31.
She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, Eugene and Pat
Adler of Arizona, Neil and Ameria
Adler of California; daughter and
son-in-law, Barbara and Dan Schaub
of California; sister and brother-in-
law, Sybil and Morris Fenkell of
Birmingham; six grandchildren. Ms.
Adler was the beloved wife of the
late Leonard Adler; dear sister of the
late Rae Zamler.
This announcement was placed at
the request of the family by the Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

BETTY MARTHA BEARE, 96, of

Farmington Hills, died Nov. 4. She
was a retail clothing consultant.
Mrs. Beare is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Thomas and
Phyllis Beare of Florida; grandchil-
dren, Judy Yaker, Bill Yaker, Karen
and Steve Blum, Jeffrey and Lisa
Beare, Bruce and Holly Beare,
Steven Beare; great-grandchildren,
Melissa and Michelle Blum,
Jonathan, Abby, Torey, Jason, Scott
and Bryan Beare. She was the
beloved wife of the late James Julius
Beare; loving mother of the late
Lorraine Yaker.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the
Hospice of Michigan. Arrangements
.by Ira Kaufman Chapel.

HELEN BRAND,

95, of West
Bloomfield, died
Nov. 5. She was a
member of Temple
Israel.
Mrs. Brand is sur-
vived by her daugh-
ter, Sydelle Bunin of
Farmington Hills;
Helen Brand
grandchildren,
Gregory and Cynthia
Bunin, Anthony Bunin, Jason
Bunin; great-granddaughter,
Courtney Bunin; sister, Venita
Gorman of San Diego. Mrs. Brand
was the beloved wife of the late Dr.
Benjamin Brand; dear mother-in-law
of the late Arnold Bunin.
Graveside services will be held at
Machpelah Cemetery on Monday,
Nov. 12, at 3 p.m. Contributions
may be made to a charity of one's
choice. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.
