that'll open in December, on Crooks
Road north of Big Beaver in Troy, will
seat about 265 in the 8,000-square-
foot area ... A main dining room, two
.60-seat private dining rooms and a 14-
seat private board room ... will serve
both lunch and dinner.
This will be number 25 in the fine,
highly-regarded Palm chain that opened
in New York City in 1926 ... The Troy
Palm menu will have the same celebrat-
ed dishes ... prime aged steaks, huge
lobsters and Italian specialties.

The Hungarian goulash that Betty
Kastner used to make at her husband's
restaurant, Albert's Dining Room on
W. Seven Mile ... Smorgasbord at
Skandia on James Couzens ... Also the
smorgasbord at Stockholm on E.
Jefferson ... For the uninitiated, smor-
gasbord literally means sandwich table,
but the Americanization does little
credit to true meaning ... The smorgas-
bords at both Skandia and Stockholm
were tables laden with appetizers, fish,
seafood, cold meats, salads, aspics, hot
dishes, casseroles and fine cheese.
