Marissa Rebekah Rosenberg will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 10, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. She is the
daughter of Ms.
Karen Rosenberg and
Mr. Lawrence
Rosenberg, sister of
Hannah and half-sis-
ter of Benjamin. Her
loving grandparents
are Frank and Elaine
Basch and Sydney and
Maxine Rosenberg.
Marissa is an eighth-grade honor
student at Norup Middle School in
Oak Park. She is involved in gymnastics
at the Sports Club of West Bloomfield
and has received several state awards for
her performances. She enjoys playing
the clarinet in the Norup band, reading,
dancing, writing, working computers
and traveling.
For her mitzvah project, Marissa
found it particularly meaningful to help
assemble and deliver parcels for both
the Adat Shalom and Jewish
Experiences For Families Purim Parcel
projects. She also contributed to the
American Cancer Society in memory of
her uncle David Levy.

Jillian Elyse Rubin (Yosefa Chaya) will
be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah
on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. Beaming with pride will be
her parents, Marvin and Sherrie Rubin,
her sister Lindsay and
her brother Michael.
Sharing in the nachas
will be her proud
grandparents Sol and
Lola Rubin and Sarah
Feuereisen and great-
grandfather William
Salomon. Jillian is also
the granddaughter of
the late Josef Feuereisen.
Attending Orchard Lake Middle
School in West Bloomfield, where she is
an honor student, Jillian enjoys playing
percussion in the school band, dance
and softball. For her mitzvah project,
she volunteered her time at Yad Ezra in
Oak Park, where she helped with the
food distribution to the clients. She also
helped with the doll project at
Hadassah House in West Bloomfield.

Eric Stein will be railed to the Torah as
a bar mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 10, at
Temple Beth El. His brothers Daniel
and Jacob are excited to participate. His
parents, William and Deborah Stein,
and grandparents Harold and Lois Stein
and Dr. Alberto and
Bertha Cohen are
very proud.
Eric is an honor
student at Berkshire
Middle School in
Birmingham. In
addition to his
schooling and reli-
gious studies, he par-
ticipates in theater and continues
instruction in guitar. His favorite pas-
times are creating animation, spending
time on the computer, reading and -
playing video games. For his mitzvah
project, Eric worked as a volunteer for
Yad Ezra in Oak Park.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Rachel Beth Rose will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
Nov. 10, at Congregation Or Shalom in
Vernon Hills, Ill. She is the daughter of
former Detroiters Lori and Robert Rose
and the sister of
Aaron. Proud grand-
parents are Lois and
Smart Falk of West
Bloomfield and
Charlotte Rose of
Southfield. Proud
great-grandmother is
Sylvia Ash of West
Bloomfield. She is
also the granddaugh-
ter of the late Morris Rose.
Rachel is an honor student at
Hawthorn Junior High in Vernon Hills.
She enjoys reading, dancing, babysitting
and spending summers at the Olin Sang
Ruby Union Institute Camp in
Oconomowoc, Wis. She has been col-
lecting books to donate to a shelter for
abused women and children and is
donating babysitting money to families
affected by the recent terrorist attacks.
