JNF Focus:
Water, Life

The Jewish National Fund of Greater
Michigan will hold its annual Green
Sunday phoneathon 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Max M. Fisher
Federation Building in Bloomfield
Township.
JNF is recruiting volunteers to call
households throughout metro Detroit,
detailing the urgent message about
Israel's critical water shortage.
Volunteers will enjoy food, fun and
prizes throughout the day. To partici-
pate in the phoneathon or contribute
to the Water for Life campaign, call
JNF in Southfield, (248) 203-9111.

WAND Hosts
Funding Forum

Women's Action for New Directions
(WAND) will host a forum on "The
Politics of Mental Health Funding" 7
p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the
Lighthouse, 46156 Woodward Ave.,
Pontiac.
The panel of speakers includes U.S.
Rep. Lynn Rivers; Noreen Keating,
president and CEO of the Lighthouse;
Dr. Mark Reinstein of the Mental
Health Association of Michigan;
Janette Shallal, executive director of
Southfield-based Kadima; Sara Way of
the Association for Children's Mental
Health.
WAND's mission is to empower
women to act politically, to reduce
militarism and violence and to redirect
excessive military funds to unmet
human and environmental needs.
