he Jewish Book Fair is one of Detroit
Jewry's grandest of fall traditions.
Through the pull of the written word, it
brings Jews of all backgrounds together at our
central address, the Jewish Community Center
of Metropolitan Detroit. Our Book Fair pre-
view begins on page 83 (and is also available
via JN Online, www.detroitjewishnews.com).
A related editorial appears on page 31.
Throughout Jewish history, books have
stood out. Knowledge is power, and much of
Jewish culture through the ages has been
grounded in the gifts of knowledge gleaned
from the pages of books.
Book Fair is more than a repository of fic-
tion and nonfiction. It's a place to settle in,
forego the rhythms of the workday and nour-
ish your literary soul.
