Communings of the
Spirit: The Journals
of Mordecai M Kaplan, will speak on
"A Peek into the Soul of Mordecai
Kaplan: A Discussion of His Newly
Published Diaries."
The program is co-sponsored with
the Wayne State University Press, the
Reconstructionist Congregation of
Detroit and Congregation T'chiyah.
Mordecai Kaplan (1881-1983) was
a Conservative rabbi and the founder
of Reconstructionist Judaism. His.27-
volume diary is a storehouse of
insights and observations. A book
signing will follow the lecture.

Greater Detroit Section will present
Rabbi Michael Moskowitz of Temple
Shir Shalom and David Techner from
the Ira Kaufman Chapel as speakers
12:30-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the
offices of NCJW, 26400 Lahser Road,
Suite 100, Southfield.
They will speak about living with
hope against the background of national
tragedy.
Rhoda Medow, chair of the event,
invites participants to bring .a brown-
bag lunch. There is no charge. Dessert
and coffee will be served. The public is
welcome.
