B

aseball season is over, but
there was still plenty of hard
hitting at Comerica Park on
Oct. 16. In an unusual
change of venue, Machon L'Torah
Rabbi Avrohom Jacobovitz pitched the
topic of anti-Semitism at a lunch and
learn in the Tiger Club of the Detroit
ballpark.
Machon L'Torah, the Oak Park-
based Jewish Learning Network of
Michigan, holds monthly noontime
study groups downtown, generally in
area law offices. Frequent participant
Celia Bobrowsky, community relations
director for the Detroit Tigers, threw

many attendees stayed extra innings to
continue the discussion with Rabbi
Jacobovitz; afterward, they joined
Bobrowsky on a tour.

discussion seemed especially relevant.
"The phenomenon of anti-Semitism
is unique and bizarre," said Rabbi
Jacobovitz. "The depth of the wicked-

He noted that "Jews and Zionists"

selves, Semites," he said, referring to the

THEY DID THE ONE THING THE NAZIS NEVER EXPECTED.
THEY FOUGHT BACK.
