Habitat for Humanity, visited with
seniors at the Fleischman Residence
in West Bloomfield and assisted at
Temple Israel's Labor Day program.

his bar mitzvah during Havdalah
services on Saturday, Oct. 20, at
Temple Israel. He
is the son of Suzi
and Steven Malach
and brother of
Jeffrey and
Bradley. Proud
grandparents are
Ruth and Cecil
Malach and
Evelyn and
Murray Sedley.
A West
Bloomfield Orchard Lake Middle
School honor student, Daniel is
interested in basketball, hockey, soc-
cer, computers, drawing and attend-
ing Tamarack Camps. He found it
particularly meaningful to help
Jewish Association for Residential
Care residents build a sukkah; he
also volunteered at Yad Ezra in Oak
Park and assisted at Temple Israel's
Labor Day picnic.
Kayla Rose Pappas of West
Bloomfield will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
Oct. 20, at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek B'nai Israel.
She is the daughter
of Robin and
David Pappas and
younger sister of
Jeremy. Proud
grandmother is
Barbara Keila.
Kayla is also the
granddaughter of
the late Robert
Keila and the late Shirley and Jim
Pappas.
Kayla is an eighth-grade honor
student at Abbott Middle School in
West Bloomfield. She is interested in
dance, AOL, her friends and Camp
Ramah. She loved volunteering at
Shaarey Zedek's Beth Hayeled camp
as her mitzvah project.
Neil Alan Sacks will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Oct. 20, at
Congregation Bet
Chaverim in
Canton. He is the
son of Cecile and
Stuart Sacks and
brother of Roger
and Darren. Neil
is the grandson of
the late Ann and
Norman Sacks and
the late Theresa and Joseph
Dewhirst.
Neil is an honor student at
Holmes Middle School in Livonia.
He excels in music, including playing
the clarinet; and he participates in
the school jazz band. He is an active
member of the local Boy Scout troop
and has volunteered his time for
many local causes. An avid animal
lover, Neil volunteers time at the
Humane Society.
Evan David Seigerrnan will celebrate
his bar mitzvah at
Temple Beth El
on Saturday, Oct.
20. He is the son
of proud parents
Dr. Sheryl
Pomerance and
Dr. Charles
Seigerman and the
brother of
Cydney. Proud
grandparents are Vicki and Harry
Seigerman of Boca Raton, Fla., and
Jean Pomerance of Lewiston, Texas.
He is also the grandson of the late
Joseph Pomerance.
Evan is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in
West Bloomfield, where he plays
clarinet in the symphony band. He
also plays the piano. Evan enjoys
snow skiing, tennis and golf. As part
of his mitzvah projects, Evan worked
for the team-in-training fund-raiser
of the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society of Michigan. In addition, he
shared his love of music with the
Temple Beth El campers last summer
by playing his clarinet and piano for
them. Evan plans to continue his
mitzvah project by volunteering at
Yad Ezra in Oak Park this fall.
Jessica Weisberg will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
Oct. 20, at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek. She is the daughter of Lori
