Chairs Named

HMC Marks
Anniversary

Sharon Lipton and Hannan Lis are
the co-chairs and Scott Eisenberg is
the associate chair for Super Sunday,
the annual yearly phone appeal of
the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit's Annual
Campaign 2002.
Super Sunday 2002 will take place
Oct. 28 both at the Max M. Fisher
Federation Building in Bloomfield
Township and Jewish Community
Center in West Bloomfield. Two
shifts are planned, from 9:45-11:45
a.m. and 11:45 a.m.-2:30 p.m. A
special shift for Federation's Young,
Adult Division volunteers is sched-
uled from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the
Federation building.
Lipton of West Bloomfield is a
past co-chair of Super Sunday and
co-chaired this year's JerusaleMania
event. She serves on the advisory
council of the Federation Women's
Campaign and Education
Department.
Lis received Federation's Frank A.
Wetsman Leadership Award in
2000. He has been a member of

The Holocaust Memorial Center's 17th
anniversary dinner will be held Sunday,
Oct. 28, at the Marriott Hotel in
Detroit's Renaissance Center.
The chairman for the evening's event
is Larry Kraft, president and CEO of
Serta Restokraft Mattress Company. He
is the son of Eugene and the late
Mignon Kraft; Eugene Kraft was the
first donor to make a major contribu-
tion to the future home of the HMC.
The keynote speaker will be Professor
Andrei S. Markovits from the
University of Michigan. Highlights of
the evening will include musical rendi-
tions by Cantors Stephen Dubov, David
Montefiore and Harold Orbach as well
as a video presentation, "Embracing
Our Past, Celebrating Our Future."
Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be
served starting at 5 p.m. with dinner to

Federation's Young Adult Division
since 1986.
Eisenberg was the recipient of
Federation's Frank A. Wetsman
Leadership Award in 1999. He has
held many YAD positions, including
president, vice president, co-chair of
the Outreach Committee and board
member. Eisenberg has served as
treasurer of JVS and member of the
JVS Executive Board. Mindy Soble
Kaufman is Super Sunday chair for
the Women's Campaign and
Education Department. YAD Super
Sunday chairs are Jacquelyn Bell,
Richard Bernstein, Erin Cherkasky,
Howard Collens, Gabe Karp, Rachel
Stern and Lee Trepeck.
Nancy Grand and Douglas Bloom
are co-chairs for Federation's Annual
Campaign 2002.

MJAC Installs
New Officers

The Michigan Jewish AIDS Coalition
held its annual meeting to install the
new officers and board of directors.
Officers are as follows: president,
Sheri Lee; vice presidents, Faith

Susan Rogers; secretary, Michael Daitch;
and treasurer, Milton Neuman.
