SYLVIA HELFER, 92, of West
Bloomfield, died Oct. 9. She was a cleri-
cal support worker, a member of the
Jewish Women's International, longtime
member of the Adat Shalom Synagogue
and a member of Temple Beth El.
Mrs. Helfer is survived by her daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Marion and Dr.

Michael Freedman; son and daughter-in-
law, Murray and Myra Eder Helfer;
grandchildren, Jeffrey and Debra
Freedman, Dr. Laura Freedman and Jeff
Shanbom, Steven Freedman and great-
grandchildren, Scott and Zachary
Shanbom and Ben Freedman. Mrs.
Helfer was the beloved wife of the late
James Helfer.

and the late Molly Herman.
