Tailgate Touchdown

Tailgate 2001, the sixth annual foot-
ball-related benefit for the University
of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer
Center Foundation, took place Sept.
29, before the U-M versus Illinois
game. More than 100 fans and sup-
porters were on hand, raising $46,000.
Gilbert "Buzz" Silverman, president •
of Silverman Companies, chaired the
event. Among the notables in the
crowd were sportscaster Eli Zaret and
former U-M running back Harlan
Huckelby.

Buzz Silverman, Stephen D'Arcy,
Harlan Huckelby and Eli Zaret con-
tributed to the success of Tailgate 2001.

Shoot for a Cure

"Shoot for a Cure," the ninth annual
dinner benefiting Henry Ford
Hospital's fight against neurological
diseases, will take place 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Andiamo _
Italia Banquet Center in Warren. This
year's event is being held in memory
of Ambassador David Hermelin and
Dominic Vicari. Dr. Mark and Pam
