the delicious Bolognese sauce on
spaghetti ... and Grandpa Pete's origi-
nal formula for his Sicilian bread
crumbs.
Speaking of recipes, Grandson Pete
found some of granddad Pete's old
recipes that Mark had at home ... and
is utilizing them at the restaurant ...
Also recipes that his grandmother,
Fran Larco, gave to son Mark before
passing on.
Susan and Mark are proud of their
son ... And certainly should be ... Pete
is following the family tradition in a
way they would want him to ... But
also important ... the way old cus-
tomers remember how his grandfather
Pete did it years back on West
McNichols in Detroit.
THERE WERE about 600 at the
recent Eighth Annual Partners black
tie ball at Ritz-Carlton, Dearborn ... a
far cry from the 200 that attended
after its beginning ... and gradually
went up in count each year.
The annual event to benefit the
Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer
Institute ... by its youthful philan-
thropic volunteers, has become even
more an affair not to be missed.
Honorees, this year, were Eunice
and Milton Ring, and Dr. Isaac
Powell.
Eunice and Milt's daughter, Karen
Weiss, is co-chairperson with Sharon
Wood, of the Partners' executive com-
mittee.
The attractive young lady trodding
about with a walkie-talkie ... was
Vicky Fingeroot, head of Events &
Entertainment, in Farmington Hills ...
Her late mother, Geraldine Rissman,
was Eunice's sister ... Responsibility in
no small part for the growth of
Partners is held by Geraldine, Eunice
and their parents, Ann and Harry
Korman.
Vicky and her Events &
Entertainment company, have perfec-
tionist attitudes ... which appear to
come out in all their endeavors ... A
very good trait ... Vicky coordinated
and just about ran this year's successful
Partners affair with much precision.
Proceeds from this year's ball sup-
port the Suzanne Korman Morton
Cancer Research Fund founded in
1975 ... and Dr. Isaac Powell's
Prostrate Cancer Ethnic Disparities
Research ... Suzanne was the sister of
Eunice and Geraldine ... and passed
away from cancer.
Mary and Ron Lamparter, 1995
honorees of Partners, won the top raf-
fle prize of a Hawaiian trip and donat-
ed it back to be bid for in the live auc-
tion ... It brought $5500 more dollars
