Joshua rode his bicycle more than
360 miles this summer, collecting
pledges for each mile he rode. He
donated his pledge money to
Technion-the Israel Institute of
Technology and the American
Red Cross.

Kimberly Alison Simons will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah
during Havdalah
services on
Saturday, Oct. 13,
at Temple Israel.
She is the daughter
of Helaine and
Jerome Grubnick
and William
Simons. Excited
grandparents are
Betty and Jerry
Simons and Ruth Stern. She is also
the grandchild of the late Kenneth
Stern.
A student at Norup Middle
School in Oak Park, where she is in
the school band, Kimberly enjoys
playing clarinet, swimming, music,
computers, art and summers at
Tamarack Camps. Mitzvah projects
included participating in a walk at
the Detroit Zoo to fund epilepsy
research and volunteering at Temple
Israel's Labor Day picnic.

Ryan Adam Singer will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah during
Havdalah services on Saturday, Oct.
13, at Temple Beth
El. He is the son of
Nancy and Kevin
Singer and brother
of Lindsay and Jake.
Excited grandpar-
ents are Patricia and
Gerald Katchman
and Arlene and
Sheldon Singer
Ryan is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in
West Bloomfield. He enjoys tennis,
golf and skiing. His mitzvah projects
included volunteering at the Temple
Beth El nursery school, sorting food
at Detroit-based Gleaners Food
Bank and working at the Jewish
Association for Residential Care car-
nival this summer.
