A World Of Song

Cantor Orbach performs interna-
tionally, but his roots at Temple
Israel go back 40 years.

e grew as a cantor as his temple grew into
one of North America's largest Reform con-
gregations.
Harold Orbach has been an ordained cantor for
50 years, 40 of them at Temple Israel. His expan-
sive smile, precise enunciation, distinctive tenor
and caring heart have left a spiritual imprint on
Jews and non-Jews alike.
Cantor Orbach has experienced the lifecycle with
families, endowed children with a love for Jewish
learning and helped make music integral to Jewish
life. He also has felt personal pain and loss, and, in
turn, has drawn support and comfort from the
larger community.
Detroit Jewry is richer because of you, cantor.
