WORDS AND MUSIC of a song
you may have been hearing on the air-
waves, "We're With You, America" was
written by localite, Mel Ball ... It is
performed by Mel and his group,
Colours, with a 24-piece orchestra.
One-half of all proceeds from the sale
of Mel's "We're With You, America"
recording will go to benefit the New
York Firefighters and Police Department
disaster victims and their families.
HOW VERY PROUD we all are of
these and so many others in coming
forth to help in the recent tragedies is
far, far beyond any words!
BEING A FINE anesthesiologist
certainly has its rewards ... But also
enjoying another field of endeavor at
the same time is the happy lot of Allan
Katz, son of localite May Katz, and
the late Dr. Ben Katz.
The former Hampton, Mumford
and U-M Medical School grad, now
living in Napa, California, became
interested in winemaking ... and after a
good review on his wine, got together
with surgeon friend, Dr. Robert White
... In 1997, they started the Chiles
Lake Winery ... making Zinfandel
from grapes grown in the valley.
Just recently, the red Zinfandel wine
of Allan and Robert, took first place ...
a double gold award and best wine of
Napa Valley ... at the 2001 California
State Fair wine competition.
CONGRATS ... to David Korman
... on his 88th birthday ... dancing a
mean wiggle to the Billy Rose Trio at
Excalibur.
