The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit's Annual Campaign 2002 will
begin Sunday, Oct. 28, with Super
Sunday, the community's annual
phone appeal.
Super Sunday 2002 will take place
simultaneously at the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield and the Max M. Fisher
Federation Building in Bloomfield
Township. Two shifts are planned
9:45-11:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.-2:30
p.m. Meals will be provided for volun-
teers; childcare is available at both loca-
tions for the first two shifts.
Sharon Lipton and Hannan Lis are
co-chairs; Scott Eisenberg is associate
chair. Mindy Soble Kaufman is Super
Sunday chair for the Women's
Campaign and Education Department.
Rachel Rubenfaer Karp and Robin
Trepeck are Super Sunday co-chairs for
Federation's Young Adult Division,
which plans an Survivor-themed
phonathon at only the Federation
building 5:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 28.

Nancy Grand and Douglas Bloom
are co-chairs for this year's . Campaign.
Funds raised by the Campaign sup-
port services and programs that revital-
ize Jewish life here and overseas.
More than $12.4 million from this
year's Campaign went to local partner
agencies. The Max M. Fisher Jewish
Community Foundation awarded
$113,000 in grants to community
organizations for social service, cultural
and educational programs. The Jewish
Fund awarded $850,500 in grants to
programs that expand health and
human services to Detroit residents.

The Michigan Region of the American Committee of the Weizmann Institute of
Science honored Dorie and Bruce Miller of Bloomfield Hills at a dinner Sept.
10. More than $250, 000 was - raisea' for the Miller Family Fund for Cancer
Research at the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, Israel. Shown are Martin Kraal;
