place them higher for
their warmth and
their friendliness.
"I just got a letter
from the head of the
preStigious James
Beard Foundation
saying 'Thank you
for an extraordinary
weekend, thank you for an extraordi-
nary big meal, but most of all please
thank your staff for a warmth that we
just don't find anymore.'
"My servers truly care if you enjoy
your meal. They care that you get what
you are looking for, what you want;
and they are disappointed if they sense
that you are unsatisfied. They'll do
anything to make you happy
Tribute is open Tuesday-Saturday
from 5:30 p.m.
"I'm proud every day of what we've
created," exclaims Mickey ... And well
he should be ... The accomplishment
of Tribute in just five years has been
unequaled ... and the price is right for
such warm elegance and an unbeatable
dining excellence.
AUTO WASH devotees ... and the
many who have left the Jax Kar Wash
scene because of poor workmanship
and service since being sold by Jack
Milen and son Bruce Milen ... can
take heart again.
Jack and Bruce have reacquired it
from the national company that had
bought Jax from them ... and are
devoting much time and energy into
making it the Jax Kar Wash that so
many knew for its attention to detail
and satisfaction.
Jax is again being run by Bruce ...
whose excellent track record of car
wash approval is well recognized.
This is wonderful news ... The fine
Milen touch was very much lacking after
Jax was sold ... Getting customers back
won't be a problem once folks find out
that the Milens are at the helm again.
WORD IS OUT THAT when the
Russian Tea Room reopens after
remodelini, in New York, the wonder-
ful Jo Thompson, among the best
songstresses around, may possibly be
its feature ... Couldn't be a better
choice ... The very popular former
Detroit performer is today one of
America's shining stars ... better than
ever ... And that's really going some
because Jo has always been great.
She was recently here for the first in
Comcast's Cool & Classy Concerts
being held at the Detroit Opera
House ... Jo shared billing with Bobby
Short, "King of New York Cabaret."
