Beth Shalom Sets
Family Services

Congregation Beth Shalom will have
family holiday observances for Yom
Kippur and Sukkot.
New this year will be a Yom Kippur
family service 10:15 a.m.-noon
Thursday, Sept. 27, at Avery
Elementary School in Oak Park.
Written and conducted by congre-
gants and geared for families with
children from birth through age 11,
the service follows a half hour of
games, which teach children about
Yom Kippur.
A children's neilah program and
Shofar Blowout will take place 7: 1 5
p.m. Thursday, Sept., 27, in Beth
Shalom's education center. The chil-
dren's program is a half hour of fun
and learning about Yom Kippur for
children in preschool through fifth
grade. The Shofar Blowout will follow
at 7:45 p.m.
The congregation will have a family
Sukkot program, "Pizza (and Pasta) in
a Hut," 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in
the synagogue. The program will
include dinner, music, games and
sukkah decorating crafts plus an edi-
ble sukkah to make for dessert. Pre-
payment and registration by Sept. 24
are required.

Caters To Kids

Temple Shir Shalom will offer
Kindermusic for fall. Classes incorpo-
rate interactive exercises, creative
movement, music appreciation, emo-
tional bonding, partner dancing, sen-
sory stimulation and relaxation tech-
niques for child and parent/caregiver.
Kindermusic Village is for
parents/caregivers and babies from 6
weeks to 18 months of age and will
meet 10-10:45 a.m. Oct. 1 Dec. 17.
Kindermusic Our Time class is for
toddlers from 18 months-3 years of
age with parent/caregiver and will
meet 11-11:45 a.m. Monday _ s Oct. 1-
Dec. 17.
The fee for either class is S150,
which includes materials. For infor-
