The strolling dinner will be donated
by local restaurants, with entertainment
donated by Starshowz DJ
Entertainment.
In July, Starbuck's Coffee in
Birmingham held an after-hours coffee
night, raising 52,000 for Herman's care.
A football pool, organized by brothers
Scout and Dale Turken, who are long-
time friends of Herman from school
days in Farmington Hills, has brought
54,000 in pledges.
A fund has been set up for donations
to Herman to be made through Variety,
the Children's Charity
"It is difficult for him to think
beyond each day," Leibovitz says of her
brother. "He tries to just take each
moment and day, one at a time. He is
as personable, funny and charming as
ever," she says. "But it will take a rong
time, with a lot of support and encour-
agement, for him to adjust ro and
accept the devastating changes in his
life."
