those in need of window win-
terization, leaf-raking and
indoor-outdoor cleanup. Set up
a team of individuals, students,
families, corporations or social
groups.
• Supportive Community —
1-3 hours, twice yearly, for
adults and children. Sign up to
be on a roster of volunteers to
be called on to assist home-
bound older adults with minor
indoor and outdoor household
chores: replace light bulbs,
shovel snow, drive to outpa-
tient surgery, minor plumbing.
• Friendly Visitors — 1 hour
weekly. Family or individual to
visit with and/or grocery shop
for a homebound older adult.
• JFS Mentors — 2-4 hours, 1
day per week. Reach out to a
child who would benefit from
a special friendship with a car-
ing adult. Mentors offer valu-
able companionship and sup-
port by providing one-on-one
attention and guidance.
• School Tutors — 1 hour
weekly. As a partner with the
Jewish Coalition for Literacy,
JFS Matches volunteers with
students at a local elementary
school.
• Courtesy Drivers — 1 morn-
ing or afternoon weekly. Drive
homebound older adults to
doctor appointment to visit
someone in the hospital or
other destinations.
