The Akiva community celebrates
the start of school with food and fun.
S tudents at Yeshivat Akiva work hard all
year on a curriculum that combines sec-
ular studies with Hebrew and religion.
But they also know how to have a
good time.
On Aug. 26, the school's 267 students and
their families were invited to a back-to-school
picnic on Akiva's campus in Southfield.
Although rain eventually drove the party-
goers indoors, there still was plenty of outdoor
time for feasting and fun.
