New Leaders
At Hillel

Robert H. Orley was elected president
of Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit at a recent board of directors
meeting
Orley has been a member of
board and executive committee. He
has served on a number of committees
for the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit as well as on the
United Jewish Communities' Young
Leadership Cabinet.
The following people were elected
to the executive committee: Gary
Shiffman and Terri Farber Roth, vice
presidents; Linda Baruch, treasurer,
Scott Eisenberg, secretary; Fred
Blechman, immediate past president.
The following people were re-elected
to the board of directors: Nancy Adler,
Stacy Brodsky, Lori Garon, Ken Goss,
Denise Kalt, Robert Kaplan, Dr.
Barbara Kappy, Shari Kaufman, Rabbi
Elliot Pachter, Elizabeth Schubiner,
Lori Weisberg and Sara Zivian Zwickl.
New members to Hillel's board of
directors include Jim Berger, Dr. Beth

Arlene Sorkin succeeds Edwina Davis
as executive director of the Michigan
Jewish AIDS Coalition, which seeks
through education to improve the
quality of life of persons infected,
potentially infected or touched by
HINT/AIDS.
Davis is retiring
after 7 7, years of
service. She hopes
to spend more time
with her three
grandchildren, who

and Washington,
D.C., and devote
Arlene Sorkin
some time to fight-
ing AIDS in Africa
as a volunteer with
the American
Jewish World
Service.
After the first of
the year, Davis will
go to Africa for six
to eight months to
