CARLA JEAN SCHWARTZ Local Columnist p artners, a volunteer group dedicated to fighting can- cer, will host a golf classic Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Indianwood Golf and Country Club in Lake Orion and a black-tie gala ball 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Ritz-Carlton in Dearborn. Funds raised by the Partners benefit the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. The gala event, "Partners at the Ritz," will honor Eunice and Milton Ring. The Rings are longtime Karmanos supporters and Eunice was instrumental in forming the Partners Group. She also monitors the Suzanne Korman Morton Cancer Research Fund in honor of her sister who lost her battle with cancer. "Partners at the Ritz" also honors Isaac Powell, M.D. for his dedication and the advances he has made in the treatment of prostate cancer. The event includes a silent auction, dinner and dancing. Master of cere- monies will be Al Muskovitz a.k.a. Big Al Muskavito of WOMC-FM's "Purtan's People." Karen Weiss and Sharon Wood head the leadership committee for both events. Fash Bash The 32nd Fash Bash, held Aug. 10 at the Fox Theatre, raised more than $400,000 for the Detroit Institute of Arts. The glamour benefit attracted many of Detroit's stylish partygoers.
